Sublime Hill Country Village Masterpiece | 104 Tomahawk Trail
Luxury Home Magazine: What makes 104 Tomahawk Trail truly special?
Jason Glast: It’s a 5-acre estate with privacy, jaw-dropping beauty and coveted amenities that are impossible to find in such a central location.
LHM: How unusual is it to find all of that in one package?
JG: It’s very rare to find this much land and privacy located less than 10 minutes from San Antonio International Airport, 15 minutes from downtown, and 15 minutes from the Texas Hill Country. This is one reason that Hill Country Village is one of the most in-demand and exclusive areas in all of South Texas.
LHM: Let’s talk about what’s on the property.
JG: The main single-level residence has been exquisitely updated. It showcases hardwood floors, striking solid wood beams, light-colored walls, and quartzite countertops for a modern touch and features beautiful views of the incredible lot.
LHM: I’m also intrigued with the detached structures.
JG: There’s a 1,500 sq. ft. guest house and a 1,200 sq. ft. pool house loft, both beautifully updated with modern kitchens, full baths, laundry facilities, and sleeping quarters. Each are finished out at an incredibly high-level. You’ll love The Big Chill refrigerator/freezers. They look like lovely antiques, but they are new. There’s a ton of flexibility with these spaces.
LHM: Just looking at the photos, I can tell that the landscape looks incredible. What is the story?
JG: The owner meticulously planned the grounds. Huge grass berms, lush vegetation, towering oaks and a cut limestone wall with dramatic entry gates ensure seclusion as well as something pretty to see throughout the estate. For a touch of whimsy there is an early-20th century windmill imported from the Midwest.
LHM: It’s gorgeous to look at, and I imagine you can you enjoy yourself there too. I’ve heard there’s some serious pickleball potential.
JG: Yes, they built a pickleball pavilion – with Big Ass Fans – and an elevated stage, adaptable for various activities. Also, it has a huge, recently-built pool and a generous covered living area, complete with a fireplace and outdoor kitchen, perfect for entertaining or relaxing. It’s like owning your own 5-star resort.
LHM: It sounds great, but how hard is it to take care of a property of this scope?
JG: It’s not a zero lot line home, but the owner has invested in new systems, a well to handle the water needs of the lush landscape and three large generators to keep the entire property operating in case of power failure like many of us experienced during the “Snowpacalypse” of 2021.
